The Micah Band to Perform at the Cowboy Gospel Jubilee
The Micah Band will be performing Friday, 7 p.m., on the Cowboy Gospel Jubilee stage.
The Micah Band is composed of a select group of talented musicians and singers from around East Tennessee. All members of the band have traveled and performed with many different gospel groups throughout the years. The band currently plays a variety of music from Southern Gospel, bluegrass and contemporary Christian music.
The Micah Band has been playing together since 2009. They love to get together about once a month to fellowship and worship the Lord.
Sheb Phillips of Sweetwater sings lead and plays rhythm guitar. John Sitzler of Madisonville sings lead and plays the keyboard. Patrick Dalton of Madisonville plays piano. David Goodman of Sweetwater plays lead guitar. Kevin Williams of Cleveland plays drums. Alan Paige from Athens plays bass guitar.
The Cowboy Gospel Jubilee is a wholesome, Opry-style show that features multiple performers and various styles of music, mostly bluegrass and country Gospel.
Regulars appearing on the Jubilee include Elmer Bramlett, Joel Moore, and the Cowboy Church pastor, Wally Varnell, playing the electric guitar — Merle Travis-style.

The Cowboy Gospel Jubilee is held at the Cleveland Cowboy Church, in the Dockery Heights community at 3040 Blythe Road, off Dockery Lane, between Blue Springs and Blackburn Roads.
Admission is free and they pass the hat for the headliners.
